I have seven days and 15,000 words to go in my NaNo project. I actually think I have closer to 25K left in the story but that is for another day. Either way, I don't know if I am going to finish on time. It is looking pretty bleak. Life is just getting in the way this year. I will still try and I am still enjoying the story that I have going so we will see where I end up next Monday.
Mind you, Monday morning I have a Dr.'s appointment and I don't know if they will decide I need something drastic like heart surgery then or not (I don't think that is in the cards, but I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't need stents). If I do it will put a damper on my writing plans for the rest of the year.
Still, I can't complain. I haven't had a month where I have written 35K in one month this year. It might be more but I haven't added my short story numbers in yet.
Now I am off to grill steaks and make nachos from them. My cardiologist would be so proud, cheese and red meat on salty fried chips and don't forget the sour cream. :)

35k is a huge achievement!
Says the girl who hit 50 K already. ;) By the way, have I said 'you rock!' yet?
Good going Jamie - I would have curled into a ball and begun whimpering already with everything else you have buzzing around in your head...
Yikes, I hope you don't need surgery or anything like so drastic! 35k is awesome, especially with health problems.
Whatever happens, I'm sending good vibes. Maybe they can give you one of those kick-ass bionic hearts...
I'm really not too worried. I'm not getting paid to write this story, and I have faith that nothing bad is going to happen to me this time. You have to remember I have been hit by more cars than I can remember and I don't have a scratch from any of those experiences. :)
Chop up some scallions and sprinkle them on the sour cream. Vegetables are good for you ; )
I wish I'd accomplished 35k this past month. You rock. Oh and I have faith in your heart too.
Nat- I did. They were onions actually, and very strong. Very strong.
Cate- I was thinking about it and the previous record this year was around 20K. It was March I believe. Most of my months have been less than 10K.
35k in a month is a huge accomplishment, but especially when considering how life is throwing everything (yes, the kitchen sink!) at you just now.
Katey- sadly, I should be working on my NaNo book right now, but I am working on a story for an antho as we speak. Only a couple of thousand words to finish it. I am a glutton. I might finish NaNo in December. Or January.
Wow, that's still amazing!! 35K!
