June in retrospect

I really can't believe June is gone already. It seems like just yesterday it was March. This year is breaking the speed limit or something. I don't know what.

So, let me think of what June was. Okay, after checking my records I wrote one flash piece for Shroud and edited and edited and then I edited some more, but I finished with my edits on Beneath These Walls. I also managed no rejections and two acceptances, although one was a reprint. I have, as of this morning, 11 stories out in sub land. I read two books this month and started a third (it is non-fiction and probably wouldn't interest most of you).

Now I have goals for July. My first writing goal is to finish putting all of my edits into the computer and print a copy for my wife to read. I then plan on putting her suggestions to good use and then submit it. My second goal is to finish my Vermin story and submit it. My Third and final goal is to edit my MG book, let my wife read that, use her suggestions and start shopping for agents this month. I think I just crammed way too much into my month.

Let the fun of July begin!

Reprint sales count, darn it! Sounds like summer is your Editing Season. Good luck on the goals!

A hot, sweaty month ripe with mosquitos. A great incentive to stay in and write ; )

I read the word 'agents' and my stomach turned over. One of us has to get one soon or I am going to scream. Okay, Mr. Stone got one earlier this year and Carrie's had one for yonks, but it's time for another alumni to step out into the brave world of agented land. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

K.C.- It sure hasn't been a summer of writing, that is for sure. :)

Nat- Actually, today I have the windows open enjoying the cool breeze from the north.

Cate- I think it is just a matter of time before another one of us gets an agent.

Okay, 2-0? Awesome odds. Awesome.

I bow to your acceptance/rejection ratio!

And on to July...CHARGE!

Good luck with those goals!

I'm not sure what a yonk is, but I'm crossing fingers that someone joins me in yonkland soon.

Aaron- Charge! indeed. On into the wild blue yonder that is July!

Jameson- May we both finish them in the next 2 weeks.

Ann- I haven't forgotten. Those were just the writing goals.

Jeremy- I hope many of us see them in our future. Along with contracts.

Danielle- You should see what August looks like. ;)

Carrie- Yonkland must be a wondrous place, where the flowers smell sweeter and the daily word counts are longer.
