Don't know the words

As a fan of Iowa State University (widely known for their academics and not for their sporting teams) we frequently didn't know the words to the school fight song. In spite of this we would sing along at sporting events to the beat with the words, "Don't know the words. Don't know the words. Don't know the words and I don't care!"  It might be one of those, you had to be there moments, but it puts a smile on my face.

Enough of that tangent. I have been battling a sick kid and installing a sump pump this week and in spite of this have written a couple of thousand words. I am pretty happy with myself. They probably suck and will have to be cut later, but they are there for now, another reminder that I tried this week, in spite of myself.

I don't know my schools fight song either. For that matter, what is a fight song: football stuff, right?

Any words are good words, even if they're bad words. Well, you know what I mean. I hope your kid feels better soon, and the sump pump works!

You should put together a handyman/writer podcast. Now that would be slipsteam.

Nat, you should have heard the cheers we had at the hockey games. Something about refs and inappropriate relations to sheep comes to mind. ;)

K.C., the words aren't as bad as I thought, the kids are feeling better but the wife is now sick and I'm still not done with the pump but I should be tomorrow.

Aaron, I wouldn't even know where to start on that. I am still thinking of putting together a non-fiction book about building a bar for the home. I have notes somewhere.

We didn't have a school song...at least I don't think we did.

Danielle, we had more important things to worry about.
