Lost

No, the name of the post does not come from the television show it comes from the fact that I had several uninterrupted hours of thinking time yesterday and I didn't have a pen or recording device to write any of it down and now it is all gone.

I had subplots going and some darn fine dialog thought up and this morning it is lost in my subconscious mind. Probably forever.

Let this be a lesson to everyone out there that, while having ideas is great, remembering them is greater. GRRRRR!

It will come back, Jamie. Not when you're growling, but it will come back. Just have the pen read when it does.

I just wish I knew what it was about in the slightest. I have no clue if it was an adult novel, a short story, YA. Not a clue.

not recently- that I know of anyway.

Ouch! You'll remember it later, though, probably while doing something dull like washing dishes or driving. You know, when you can't immediately write it down and you'll forget it again. :)

Cate, I should do that.

K.C., What were we talking about?

for the whole time I've known you, you can't remember sh*t, why are you surprised now?

This happens to me everyday. While driving around in my truck at work, I'll come up with all sorts of ideas, but I cannot write them down. By the time I get to my next stop, let alone get home for the day, I've forgotten them. Heck, just talking about it now helped me remember something I told myself to do three days ago.

I HATE THAT. Happened to me last night in bed. Think I need to soothe myself with Guinness. But it's 8:15 in the morning.

Dilemmas.

Fingers crossed for it coming back. God, I sympathize. So much.

Sometimes that happens to me just before I fall asleep - when I can't be bothered sitting up to grab pen and paper - and then in the morning it's gone.
