Not a productive week

I blame the heat. We have had a heat index of over 100 (between 105-115) all week. It doesn't even cool off at night. The kids haven't been sleeping in like they should and now it is Friday and I have managed to write about 1300 words all week. I am hoping to double that word count today, if the boy doesn't stop coming in and telling me what to do.

Sometimes life really does get in the way.

We had a miserable heatwave a few weeks ago. I told the hubby we're buying a small air conditioner next year. Maine's summers are too short to lose time being grumpy as hell enduring hellish temperatures.

Rebecca, air conditioning is good. :)

Nat, I don't mind the heat but it seems to create monsters out of the poison dwarves I have running around here already.

Heat sucks. When we were getting bombarded with humidity in July, I almost melted. August has been much more agreeable.

Jamie Eyberg said...

Rabid, melting is bad. Very bad.

The heat was pretty sh*tty here, too. Last night a "cold front" moved through, and now we're down to the lower '90s. Feels like fall after that heat.

Jamie Eyberg said...

Aaron, we had the same front move through here and it still feels hot.

1300 words isn't all that bad. Anything is better than zero words. Anyway, heatwaves are meant for conserving energy by not thinking very hard about anything and drinking cool drinks.

K.C., I had an epiphany last night while mowing. it was awesome.

Heat can be the cause of all sorts of hostilities. Maybe an icy cold beer is in order.
