Dateline: Monday, July 6

It was a good weekend. I still have all of my fingers and toes. My eyes are not bandaged up and I still have beer in the fridge. I got no writing down but I did come up with some good scenes while I was mowing. Whether I can turn them into a cohesive manuscript is another story.

It is one of those tales that if people like it they would love it and if they don't it would probably be on most banned book lists (I think they refer to those as cult titles). I think I might try to write it. It would probably be a pretty lengthy manuscript. Just what I need, another project. Today I am going to focus on getting my Vermin story done and get it out the door tomorrow. Nothing like getting two of your writing goals for the month (of three) done by the 7th.

Now I have to get the children dressed and brew a pot of coffee. I need to pick up some paint for the porch floor and work that into my schedule sometime this afternoon.

I'm interested in hearing more about this story

Jeremy- It isn't horror, yet. It is still forming in my head and so far I just have scenes, here and there in my head. I think it calls for more thought and notes, lots of notes.

Mowing the lawn allows for plenty of thought-time. Glad you found it productive.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Nice to check out yours, too. It looks like we're working toward the same goal... Creating a cohesive manuscript. I'll follow your progress!

I think I'd kill for a cult hit more than a blockbuster. Cult rocks.

I'm with Cate. The cult hit will be around much, much longer.

Yeah, mowing and housework are the best for that. And driving, if you have a long one. But no one likes that, right?

Allow me to add my voice here, also: cult hit ftw.

Aaron- when you have as much yard as I have you have to do something. A quicky question? is Star Wars (episode IV: a New Hope), a Cult classic or Blockbuster hit?

Cate- I think I would as well. you might not be recognized by everyone that sees you on the street, but the ones that do would be real fans.

Katey- I used to do all of my thinking on my drives home from work. I am sure people thought I was crazy when they saw me having animated conversations with myself. (before Bluetooth headsets)

Alexis- Perhaps one of the hardest things to do, the cohesive manuscript. The manuscript is fairly easy. And welcome to my blog :)

The idea sounds good, and definitely go for the cult hit.

You just reminded me I need to mow the lawn. Oh well, it can wait another day or two.

K.C.- There is another weekend coming up here in a couple of days. :)the grass will still be there (or the weeds like in my yard)

Well being on a banned book list is free publicity, so I say go for it!

I'd be very interested to know more about this story as well. Anything banned is always going to be a good read.

This new idea sounds interesting. One person's banned is another person's must read.

Good luck with the Vermin antho. My story goes out tonight to join yours in subbedville.

Nat- I say we all try to write books that will eventually be banned. Sounds like a good goal. I think I will write a children's book about two male penquins who take care of an egg.

What? That's already been written?

Danielle- I would hate to disappoint.

Jameson- managed to get my story out tonight. It came in at 6900 words. My 300-400 words until I was done was a little off by a couple of thousand words. Good luck with yours.

coffee coffee coffee please

cult hits are the bees knees (*side note: isn't it strange that you are drawn to typing phrases you would never actually voice? or maybe it's just one of my quirks). go for it!

Samantha- sadly, I would use phrases like that, if for no other reason than to confuse my children.
