I love productive weekends

It really was a productive weekend. I finished reading one book, read Cate's chapbook (pure awesomeness!) did some sawing and some hammering, a little bit of painting, some thinking and even managed to go out on a short date with my wife (who else would I go out with?). The only writing that got done was in my head, which worked for me.

I have been plotting my NaNoWriMo story out, trying to figure out my cast of characters and the natural progression of the story. I think it is going to be interesting. It is a story I thought of at the beginning of the year but haven't gotten around to starting yet. I can hold out for a couple more months. I think this one needs the brain time. It isn't going to be a horror either. More of a literary love story. I won't say romance because I believe it deals with more of the inner turmoil of the character, that and the love doesn't go both ways. Not completely.

Anyway, I thought it sounded like fun and the rest of you can pick your jaws off the floor now and move on with your day. Have a good one.

Way to go, Jamie! Branching out - I expect only great things!

Mary- I plan to continue my exploration of the darker side of humanity with this as well. ;)

Rawk on, Mr. Eyberg. Wow...thinking about NaNoWriMo already. Nice.

I've definitely started thinking about Nano too-- the more brain time the story gets beforehand, the smoother November goes, right?

Mr. Polson- I have little to do all day but think. It is the writing part that kicks my butt.

Katey- I am hoping that theory holds true. We shall see.

Yay, for the short date. Hope you both enjoyed yourselves.

I noticed Katey and Mary twittering about NaNo and it's had my brain whirring. I think we all need 2 and a bit months thinking time for November's madness.

Cate- I have noticed it on several writer's minds today. Oh, so many words in so little time.

It sounds like an interesting project. The great thing about NaNo (one of the great things) is that it gives you a great excuse to try something new. It's only for 30 days!

So there will be no bodice ripping or throbbing "swords?"

Jamie Eyberg said...

K.C.- That is kind of what I thought. 30 days of possibility.

Nat- Gawd, I hope not. Although, if I am short on words I might have to add it. I can always edit it out later.

I've been starting to think about NaNoWriMo as well. This will be my first year so am really looking forward to it.

I seriously envy you guys preparing for NaNo - I shall once more not have the time to commit. Plus, I expect to still be working on my current WIP and I'm terrible at writing two long things at once. Shorts I can do, but not longs.

Next year however, I'll have my long service leave safely in the bank. Maybe then will I be able to book off the entire month and seriously get stuck in...ah, 2010. Long service and WorldCon in Australia. Could be a good year.

NaNo. *shudders*. Will I beat the curse this year?

Good luck on the project. Sounds interesting.

Danielle- I an jeyberg74 if you want to add me as a buddy.

B.T.- We look forward to your company in this monthlong endeavor next year then.

Michelle- I am going to be interested if I don't end up killing someone in this manuscript. I don't think that has ever happened.

Alexis- Indeed it does.

Jeremy- I didn't know a curse went along with it. Should I watch out for infected mosquito bites or venomous snakes?
