It was a dark and stormy morning

it really is kind of dark and it really is stormy here in West Central Iowa right now. Lots of inspiration. I think I will draw the blinds shut and get to typing.

I would also like everyone to meet my old college roommate. Carmen is a copy-editor for a newspaper and also one of the best artists that I know. He has an entire blog devoted to the miniatures that he paints for fun. You know the ones, from the d&d sets that let you set up little battles. He is better than your average miniature painter though. Well, go see for yourself. Carmen's Painty Fun Time is up for your amusement. Tell him I sent you. Who knows, he might just give you a little inspiration.

In other news. I was planning on jotting notes yesterday, but instead found myself with an hour of uninterrupted writing time so I started that book I was telling you about yesterday. I shall see how it goes. I am about 1/30th of the way through it if you use the 60K marker for a novel.

Hope everyone has a good day. talk at you later.

We have some lovely thunder right now in NE Kansas. Too bad I'm prepping for school...wait: I'm teaching Beowulf today. :)

I love my job. Sometimes.

Samantha- we haven't had much of a summer here. Only a couple of days in the 90's.

Aaron- Same storm complex that is hitting you is riding a cold front north to us. You have gotten a lot of rain lately though. Have fun with Beowolf (I have a copy of that in the original old English somewhere) It reads more like German than English.

Ahhhh, dark and stormy. I wish it was like that here. It's meant to be cold considering its winter and all but we're having a heat wave at the moment.

I used to paint minaitures. Not even half as good as that guy, however.

Cate- I am still in the 'write like a madman, this could end at any moment' phase.

Nat- I thought MO was getting some moisture as well. Must all be north of you.

Danielle- It is still summer here and we are having a cold snap.

Jeremy- the man writes all of his notes with a fountain pen, and it looks good.

Wow dude, he IS really good.

Good luck with the new book-- 1/30th on the first day is a damn good start, I'd say!

Katey- I found out about his blog because he sold some articles that are going into a book about painting miniatures. It will be available on Amazon soon he said. He has illustrated another book.

Describing your WIP as 1/30th through tells me you're a glass-half-full kind of person. :) Good luck on it!

I wish it was storming here. I love storms.

K.C.- Actually, it is left over from my construction days when we measured everything with fractions. Besides 2K words doesn't sound very impressive. (when you hit 4K you are 1/15 through :)_)
