Man, this Monday thing rolls around quick anymore

I spent the weekend in the company of family, rodeo clowns and large animals that didn't want the riders on them in the least. It was a good time and of course that means that it was the annual rodeo trip for my family, much to the chagrin of my wife, who was not raised around the rodeo and only suffers through it because the kids like it. It is a lot like Star Wars and electronic stores for her. She does a good job at humoring me, bless her heart.

This also meant that I got absolutely no writing done and I am at a loss for words this morning. Maybe that second cup of coffee will infuse me with ideas. Have a great Monday.

I've never been to a rodeo. They're harder to come by in my neck of the woods.

Rebecca, I grew up ten miles from the biggest one in the state. They have an 8K seat arena in a town of less than 1K. if you ever get the chance to go to one you should. They are fun.

Now if I could coax my wife to a demolition derby, we'd be in business.

The rodeo sounds fun, electronic stores not so much.

Aaron, I don't know if they still do this anymore but they used to have demo derbies in the same arena. :) We have figure 8 races where I live now. (Look them up, you won't be disappointed)

Cate, I only drag her to the electronic stores when I have something to actually buy, not just to browse.

I've never been to a rodeo either. Have to remedy that. And you need to write something rodeo-ish. I'd like to read that.

Ying is the same way when I take him around small-town suburbia. He's so clueless and cute : )

Carrie, how did you live in Iowa and never made it to a rodeo. You had Dayton not that far away.

Nat, Ying at a rodeo. Now that would be a trip. :)

As if clowns aren't bad enough, there's rodeo clowns too?

Jamie Eyberg said...

Danielle, yep. They have rodeo clowns. They are the guys that get to piss off the bull long enough to get the cowboy out of the way. Apparently bulls don't like clowns either.
