Damn, I'm good (at guessing)

I said on Monday that I expected to hear back from 4 editors this week. So far I have heard back from two of those four. One was good, One- meh. What is it they say. (who the hell are they anyway? Let's go out and play.) Two down, two to go.

I did pound out chapter 5 yesterday and started in on Chapter 6 before the boy woke up. It is going to need some fleshing out when I am done. The settings are generic, the dialog is wooden, but I am getting the overall idea down which was my goal. I hope to be done with it by this time next month. Hold me to that people. I have extra lengths of steel pipe and ax handles out in my shop that are just taking up space so you can travel light.

Good discussion going on over at Jameson's blog today on inspiration and where it comes from. While you are over there wish him a happy birthday.

I bet it's a lot better than you think. I know when I'm writing, I'm perfectly capable of thinking the work is the best I've ever done AND simultaneously a big steaming pile of crap. Hey, as long as you're getting the words down!

You are so poetic with your analogy. I don't think it is rotten, yet, I just know it is not complete. I am missing something which, as many editors have pointed out to me, seems to be my weakness.

So what's the good news? :)

That was the news I posted on Monday of Bards and Sages. now I need to hear back from Noctober and Everyday Weirdness. There is a 5th in there but I don't know if I will hear back from Parsec this week or not.

I realised that after I'd hit publish your comment - doh!

That's okay, not everyone read my post on Monday I am guessing. I should have explained myself (another case of needing more information in my exposition) ;)

Dibs on a steel pipe!

Oh. Uh... I should say something inspirational. Um... you can do it!

Nat- I think this is one of those pieces where I will need readers to tell me exactly where the train goes off the tracks.

Carrie- I have enough steep pipe for everyone. You just bring a strong arm (Or a ninja to back you up) No inspiration needed, I like reality.

Fingers crossed for the other two and well done finishing chap 5.

Danielle- finished chap 6 today and heard back from market 3 of 4, another rejection (I tell you I am good with this guessing thing)
