We can thank K.C. for today's post

My earliest childhood memories with a book would involve the book Johnny and the Tool Chest. It had very few pictures but my dad would read that too me over and over as a child (when we weren't watching professional wrestling). Eventually I could read parts of it myself. My parents said I could read when I was four so it must have worked. I still have the book sitting on my bookshelf now. I haven't read it in years. I wonder if it is still as good as I remember it.

My other favorite books that I read over and over in my grammar school years were action adventure books like The Sign of the Beaver and My Side Of the Mountain. I think I have owned three copies of Mountain through the years.

I loved My Side of the Mountain too! I must have read that book a dozen times at least. Hmm, maybe I need to read it again.

I haven't read those books, but I'm sure I'd have loved them as a kid.

Man I wish my memory was better. I'm going to have to dig around for some good book flash backs!

I'm afraid I'm going to hit a stint of re-reading some of those old classics. My Side of the Mountain is a great read.

I have been meaning to re-read Mountain for about three years and this might be the year I get it done, right after I read 'Return to Luna' 'Monstrous' 'Terminal' 'money shot' and a couple of others, that are on my stack.

I've never read the book, but I remember watching the movie - and enjoying that so I figure I'd probably enjoy the book as well.

Earliest book I remember reading of any substance was The Magic Faraway Tree. Brought it for my daughter last year and she enjoyed it as well.

I don't enjoy rereading books - never have. I'll watch some movies over and over but I can't seem to do it with books. I reread the Wheel Of Time series from books 1-8 in preparation for when book 10 came out - this was just as Robert Jordan was beginning to slow down. It just wasn't the same and I doubt I'll ever do it again.

I have enough to read without going over things.

I usually don't re-read books either. This was different though. I can re-read history books as well. I always seem to catch something different in them the second time.

I used to love reading The Famous Five and The Secret Seven. I badly wanted to hang out with those guys.
