One down

So we are down one week in October already. At this rate I am going to be scratching the bald spot on my head November 1st and going, Where the Hell did October go? Right after that I will be going, Crap! I have to start my NaNo project! (I would be off to a rough start on the first day of it and consider myself behind.)

I have been plugging away, a couple of hundred words at a time, trying to finish the story that I have been working on since last week. It is a slow go, but I think the effort is worth it. I am a little frustrated that the words aren't running from my fingertips like I think they should be. I have something in my mind that is making me edit it as I go. This is especially frustrating since I am not sure which information is relevant to the storyline yet. It might go in a direction I have not seen yet and wipe out half of the manuscript yet.

Anyway, that is where I sit, at a couple of thousand words and no idea where they are going, with November looming around the corner.

Have a good Wednesday. *sigh* here is the last little bit I wrote for WIP Wednesday (I almost forgot)

“Are you busy today?”

Something in the back of my mind told me to say yes, I was incredibly busy. “No, I've got nothing going on as far as I know.”

“Come on over to my friend's house.”

She hung up before I could change my mind

i haven't begun outlining for my Nano novel either. There's just so much to occupy my time now, it's easy to say, "Oh, that's still a month away." I guess that month is disappearing fast, huh?

Jenn- I have one book outlined, but it isn't the one I want to write for NaNo. October really is a scary month as fast as it is going.

I'm convinced time hates us.

October, like the rest of us, is in a hurry to get to Halloween ; )

Cate- I am about ready to throw all of the clocks out of my house.

Nat- I hadn't even thought of Halloween yet. Lucky for me I am going to go as a genre writer. ;)

Ah, Halloween. It will help fend off November for a while. Trust me.

At least you're writing - small blessings and all that...

It's a pity we don't really do Halloween in Oz. We may get a handful of kids in hastily put together costumes asking for candy that nobody has bothered to get in just for the special occasion.

It all ends up a bit tacky around here. My cricket club is going to put on a Halloween party this year so hopefully things will be different - hell, the club has a dark fiction writer for a chairman, it's different already ;c)

BT- I used to get between 100-150 kids every year, when I lived in the city. Now I don't get any.

Time is an evil, nasty thing.

That's an intriguing snippet. I hope the words start flowing on the story soon. Me, I'm looking at the calendar and thinking about how many words I have left in my WIP and wondering if I can wrap it up by Nov. 1.

And this is why I'm not NaNoing. I'm a wuss; I can't handle the pressure.

Aaron- Not as much as it should.

Danielle- sounds like the basis of a new story.

K.C.- at the rate you are going, that would be about a 150K book. :0

Carrie- Something tells me this year isn't going to be as successful as last year. i might surprise myself.
