Goals for the week

I don't know if this will do any good, but I am setting goals for the week with my writing. I will probably fail miserably but at least I can fail in front of all of you. Here we go-

1. I will finish my triangulation story. As polished as I can get it and submit it. It will not be a horror story, but many of my stories aren't. I can live with that.

2. I will re-write the first third of a novella that I wrote last spring. This should amount to the first 40-50 pages or so. It should be interesting and I hope to turn it into more of a ghost story than a suspense thriller. I think it will add to the suspense when I am done.

3. read, read, read. I am far behind on my reading for the month and I really would like to get caught up. I hope that my boy and his new fascination with play-doh will not get in the way of this goal.

I think that should do it. I don't need to set myself up for blatant disappointment. I hope everyone had a productive weekend, even if it wasn't writing. It is easy this time of the year to get lost in everything else that is going on as we are only a little over 2 weeks away from 2010. Have a nice day.

Very impressive, I wish I had your drive. My well wishes. : )

It's the clean up that gets me (re: Play Doh).

You'll have a magnificent week, sir. I know you will.

Rebecca- I really don't have any drive, but if I don't set goals nothing gets done- ever.

Aaron- I hate the clean up as well. Lucky I have wood floors through most of the house. Good thing because they just called school for the day. :p

OK, I'm going to resist Googling "Fuzzy Pumper Barber Shop", because I'm afraid it will guide me to a website that sells movies with stars named "Honey Pillows" and "Lance Bigman".

Jeremy- My wife got one from her parents a couple of years ago. They wouldn't let her have one when she was little because they didn't want the play-doh nubs in the carpet. For your enjoyment I have included the commercial in the post.

Oh, hey, I think I had one of those...of course, I had the Star Wars one, too, where you could make little Play Dough wookies and droids.

Oh, I don't think we had those over here. :(

Have a fabulous word-filled week.

Jeremy- How come I don't have a Star Wars based Play-doh set?

Cate- You are missing out. I would protest until you got one. :)

I might follow your lead on this. I could use the focus!

Nat- steal away.

I'll have you know the kids ruined my barber shop by not cleaning the nubs out of the head. Ruined I tell you!!!!

That's a lot of writing for one week. Good luck! Personally, I don't know how you can drag yourself away from the Play-Doh long enough to write or read a single word.

Ann- the kids can ruin anything, can't they.

K.C.- I have to set my goals high. That way I don't try to procrastinate. Yesterday was a failure, but today will be better right after I scoop the snow again.

I had that. Or something very like it, a thing where you squished play doh up into these guys and the little holes in their head made it come out. So. Cool. I miss all my play doh now :/

Good luck with the goals. You got this!

Katey- Every child should have something that makes a mess of their parents floor. :)
