I am a bad writer

Since the beginning of the year (and what are now? 6 days into it) I have written a grand total of 500 words. I blame myself. It has been hectic and not entirely unproductive. I have edited re-written 20 or so pages since then, but new material has only been lingering on my brain with little time to get it down on flash drive.

Part of the reason is life. Life has become incredibly busy and unproductive and this does not make for good writing time. It also doesn't help when every waking minute is spent trying to figure out how your two year old reached the spray bottle of bleach on the back of the counter and where he sprayed the little bit that was left in said bottle. It really has been one calamity after another. By the end of the day I am so beat that all I want to do is fall asleep. Maybe today will be a little better.

Oh, look. It is starting to snow. Just what we needed to go on top of the two feet we already have. The forecast is calling for 6-10 inches and blizzard like conditions tomorrow. This will not help the writing cause as I will be spending hours clearing out my driveway now. ACK! Lucky for me the story I am working on doesn't seem to want to die but the words aren't coming very easily. I don't know if that makes any sense at all.

Have a good Wednesday. Sorry I don't have anything for WIP. Maybe next week.

That's 500 words more than I've achieved so far this year, and a wee bit more snow than we've had too. :D

The words (and time) will come. I've done much article writing but no work on the WIP yet. I did manage to open my WIP file yesterday though...

Cate, this year is getting a little ridiculous with the white stuff. one of the whitest winters ever so far.

Mary, Good article BTW. I just managed to get my WIP file open as well and now I am being kicked in the back. This isn't going to work either. As I typed that he left, probably to cause more chaos and destruction, but it is quiet for now. :)

I've maybe written 500 new words, too. Mostly edits so far. Then...who knows?

yeah, same as everyone else. 2010 has started off slow as far as wordcount is concerned.

At least I am in good company. What is it about the beginning of the year that says, 'you have the rest of the year, relax.'

Must be something in the air this year...I revised one story and have been doing nothing but research all week.

Good karma always comes back to good husbands and fathers.

I think your two year old should get together with my girls. They brushed their teeth with antibiotic cream and drew all over my couch with markers.

On second thought, maybe not.

Jeremy, it really must be in the air.

I hope, Mr. Kelly.

Carrie, that could be a good plot for a horror novel. Toddler horror at its best. *looks around* where did MY markers go?

My word count isn't exactly staggering. The holidays have left me feeling a bit shell-shocked.

Puts up hand

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I've written naff all. The weather here is the complete opposite, today 36, and then 41 for the next three days. This is our second heat wave of the summer (although not officially a heat wave unless it goes for five consecutive days).

We don't normally get this hot for another few weeks. It's going to be a very warm couple of months ahead...

Nat, I like to think that it is the quality of what I have written and not the quantity. ;)

BT, we have had the same inch of ice on the trees for over 2 weeks now. It hasn't gotten over 0 F but for a few fleeting hours in those couple of weeks.
