I'm still here

I have been taking it easy, with my writing, the last couple of days. It has been a good time to work around the house while Ann is home. Today is the last day of that and we are going to the dentist. I know, be still my beating heart.

I haven't been writing, but in true never give up writerly fashion I have been thinking of writing. Working through edits and re-writes in my head as I go about the household tasks that I have been more prone to do these last five days. I think I have come up with a better ending for the novella that I wrote and look forward to implementing that when I get to that part of the manuscript. I will be getting back to that starting tomorrow, between killing off the weeds in the driveway and pulling weeds in the strawberries. You can see just how exciting my life really is.

Still have heard no news from any editors in 5 weeks now. I don't recall my inbox being this dead, ever. Still, 2012 AD is closing to submissions tomorrow and they have managed to hold my story for a very long time. My guess is that my rejection letter got lost in cyberspace somewhere.

Um... enjoy the dentist? See, the good thing about going to the dentist is that the universe will owe you a little positive karma. Which should mean that you get an acceptance in the very near future.

When this happens, I hope you will hear my voice repeatedly saying, "I told you so," in a very annoying singsong.

Carrie- I hope so. If this is the case lets all go to the dentist. :)

Barry- Let me get this straight. You dislike getting your teeth scraped, drilled, and filled? I don't know why.

In your honour, I've abandoned writing for the last five days. *Slaps Wrist*.

Any life that involves growing your own strawberries sounds lovely to me. There's something about being a writer that makes little household tasks so much more tolerable. Conversations and movies in your head make everything better.

Sorry about the dentist though :/

Dentist visits, yikes. Just think about how great it'll be when it's over, you're out of the dentist chair, and you can treat yourself to a chocolate shake which will dribble all over your shirt because your mouth is still numb.

Or is that just me?

Hmm...shades of Steve Martin in "Little Shop of Horrors". Dentist are fun:) I've gotta say stuff like that coz my wife's a dental assistant...

I appreciate dental professionals. That said, I would rather grow a pair of testicles and get kicked in them than go to one.

PS: I still go, but only because I fear oral cancer and cavities : P

That is a long time to go without any replies. I usually have a decent stream of the rejections to keep me busy. somehow no replies sounds more annoying than rejections (please disregard this editor gods).

I think of writing constantly. I'm going to say it counts for something :^)

I haven't had strawberries for ages. Now I feel like strawberries.

I've not done a huge amount of writing lately, but then I haven't been doing anything around the house either!

Okay, I've done some tiling (still need to grout), and I've looked menacingly at the weeds for almost a week.

A little bit of revision here and there, no reading, and no new words.

I'm blaming the cold weather. I hate the cold.

I also hate the dentist so I don't envy you there. If you're anything like me, you'll now be thinking, "with all these bits and pieces out of the way, I'll have huge slabs of spare time to dedicate to my writing" - strange how that never eventuates...

That reminds me. I need to find something to do so I'll forget this post and avoid my trip to the dentist for another few weeks (I have sever short term memory).
