Woot!

I told you yesterday that the Apex Raffle was ending yesterday and today I found out that I won a copy of the Gary Braunbeck, Charles Grant, and Thomas Monteleone book When Dark Descends. And not just any copy but Gary's copy, autographed by all three writers. I am so looking forward to receiving this. It made my day. I will admit I really wanted the ARC of American Gothic but this is an awesome prize. I have a lot of autographed books but none of them were actually owned by the writers themselves at one point.

Okay, enough of the bragging rights. Now I have to pour myself another cup of coffee and get back to Mr. Calloway's Dirt Farm. I think I am about ready to start to wrap it up. Hope everyone else has a spectacular day.

Oh, and since everyone else is having a contest I am going to have one tomorrow. Stay tuned, free books seem to be everywhere these days.

And one more thing. My wife wants this question asked and perhaps answered: If you have plans to do something and have every intention of doing said plans and then for one reason or another don't get to those plans is it any better or worse than not having the plan at all. (Those of you without children won't understand ;))

That's awesome, congrats!

I now have three autographed books: two from Neil Gaiman and one from Douglas Clegg. I also have an car show flyer autographed by Elvira, and a t-shirt autographed by Iron Maiden (the entire band, during the Seventh Son tour). I did, at one time, have a copy of the Manly Manual autographed by Mr. Manly himself, but it was permanently borrowed by someone more manly than myself.

To your wife's question: tell her it's better...I'm not sure why, exactly, but it sounds better, at any rate.

I am so jealous that you have a Douglass Clegg autograph book. I have a Tacky the Penguin autographed by Helen Lester (Yes I know it is a childrens book)

Depends on the plan, I suppose.

Very nice!

If you tell the kids the plans, you better make it happen (or be ready to deal with some disappointed kids). Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but this is how things go down around our homestead.

Congrats on your awards and honors.

To me, it's better to at least have the plans. My wife would completely disagree with me. Maybe just because she likes to disagree, too.

My "autograph collection," as it were, is limited to the Pearl Jam CD Vs. signed by their guitarist Mike McCready, and a copy of a Superman comic (500, maybe?) signed by Jerry Ordway. And I don't even remember if he wrote that issue or not.

Woot! Indeed. Congratulations.

Ooh, I love autographed books - like Jeremy I have a Neil Gaiman one, also a Tim Lebbon (from before he was famous), and quite a few from the PS Publishing catalogue.

As for plans, as Aaron said if kids are involved then you better see them through, otherwise things happen. :)

Aaron- it is more like disappointed adults.

Rob- That was a great album. I bought it before they had it titled with just the sheep stuck in the fence.

Cate- Now I am going to have to go buy a couple of Neil Gaiman books because i have never read anything by the man and he has been brought up twice in this post today.
