Dinosaurs playing in the rain

So here we are, Monday- again. This weekend wasn't nearly long enough. I had so many plans and I managed to avoid almost all of them. Friday was good though.

On Friday I managed to get though half of my vermin story. The characters are fun ones that I am enjoying writing about. It is too bad I have to kill at least one of them off. At least seriously maim them anyway.

Yesterday it rained all day. The first good thunderstorm of the season. My boy (at two years of age) heard the thunder and kept insisting that dinosaurs were coming. I don't know where he gets his ideas. This after a horrendous haircut the day before. It will take a month to get his hair to grow to the length it is supposed to be. At least we hope it will only be a month.

I hope today goes well. I have big plans and not a lot of time to get them all done. I would like to finish the first draft of my Vermin story and, if I can change gears that quickly, work a little on my MG book as well.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I swear, when I came to comment I noticed the "Dinosaurs playing in the rain" title just above "No comments yet" and read it as "No Dinosaurs yet." Have they showed up by now? :)

At that age, even awful haircuts are cute. My mom has a picture of me at four with the Worst Haircut Ever, and I'm adorable. Of course, I also look like I'd just come back from getting my hair chewed off by a blender, but I'm still adorable because I was four years old. So make sure you document your boy's awful haircut, so you can embarrass him with the pictures later.

K.C.- I have been debating taking pictures but I don't think my wife will appreciate them- yet.

I wish I had photos of when one nephew cut the other nephews hair when he was sleeping.

Next time we have a thunderstorm I'm going to steal your son's line.

Haircuts are harder than they look. I have some old pictures of Ying that prove I should never, ever be a hairdresser.

She who must be obeyed has been playing with haircuts lately. She botched my lad's last haircut with the clippers - not cute when 16 and has his first serious girlfriend - and last night had a go at the youngest one's fringe - she is still recovering. I went to a proper hairdresser last week - I may have trust issues...

Kind of a random thought, but wasn't there a story by either Asimov or Clark called Delicate Sound of Thunder that was about Dinosaurs? I might be wrong, it's been like twenty years since I read it in an antho.

Actually it was Ray Bradbury in 1952 called 'A Sound of Thunder.'

OK, but I was right about...um...that it was printed on paper, right? Possibly with some kind of ink-based letters? Man, I would suck at Jeopardy...

On the bright side, I didn't know that I'd ever read Bradbury. So I've got that going for me.

The Other Half has tried to convince me to let her cut my hair. Seeing the job she and her mom did on her dad, I passed.

jeremy- I had to do a document search because I had never heard of that story before. I got lucky when I found it. Now, thanks to you, I will have to read it. Thanks, really.

Horror girl- Welcome to the clubhouse. I don't think he has ever seen that, he is only two and his attention span isn't that great yet. I think he associates dinosaurs with an episode of Wow, wow wubbzy!

I will show him the finer points of science fiction movies when he is older.
